I Miss Buffy!

Hey, Buffy fans!  Dig this!

I Miss Buffy! Megan Gogerty's Awesome Tribute AlbumThe only Buffy T.V.S. tribute album you’ll ever need.  Seriously.

Featuring the internet hit, “I Miss Buffy T.V.S.”!

We’ve all been there.  Girl meets TV show.   Girl loves TV show.   TV show gets cancelled.   Girl pines for TV show – halfheartedly casts around for a replacement, buys all the DVDs in an attempt to turn back time, finds herself sitting through the cable broadcast of “Cruel Intentions” just for a little Sarah Michelle Gellar fix.   But to no avail.   Girl misses TV show.   So she does the only logical thing.   Girl makes a funny, catchy, kick-ass tribute album to TV show.

“I Miss Buffy!   Megan Gogerty’s Awesome Tribute Album” is…well, awesome.   Ten totally original songs extol the virtues of Joss Whedon’s signature creation.

When your roommate threatens to strangle you if you play the soundtrack to “Once More With Feeling” one more time, catch her off guard with these funny, instantly hummable little ditties!

When you’re counting the days for the next Buffy comic to come out and you desperately need a distraction before your head spins off its axis, “I Miss Buffy!” rides to the rescue!

When you feel like no one truly understands you and your vampire fixation…When you have those days where the power to cast a Glamour spell on a zit would be a huge help….When you find yourself wishing you had your Ph.D. already so you could attend one of those Buffy academic conferences that don’t look nearly as boring as other, non-Buffy academic conferences do… “I Miss Buffy” is for you!

Limited time only!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:   Cool!   You made a Buffy tribute album!

A:   Sure did!

Q:   Don’t you have anything better to do?

A:   You’d think so, wouldn’t you?   But no.

Q:   Megan, you look so much hotter on the CD than you do in real life!   Who did the cover art?

A:   Thank you!   That would be The Bald Guy of Bald Guy Studios.   Check him out at http://www.baldguystudios.com   WARNING: He kinda specializes in comic pin-up art, so it’s not exactly suitable for work viewing.   Unless you work at a place that doesn’t mind sexually provocative images of, say, Wonder Woman.   Then knock yourself out.

Q:   I downloaded a version of your song “I Miss Buffy T.V.S.” from my friend’s MySpace page/Whedonesque.com/your website a few months ago.   It’s you and an acoustic guitar on a well-meaning but crappy-sounding recording.   Is it the same song as on your album?

A:   It’s the same song, but a way better recording!   Also, there are electric guitars and organs and things.   It’s awesome.

Q:   Electric guitars.   So you sold out, basically.

A:   Yes.

Q:   You’re like Dylan in ’68.

A:   Dylan actually went electric in ’65.

Q:   Whatever, hippie.   I noticed you changed a lyric.   Why?

A:   In the old version, I referenced the TV show, “The O.C.”, which went off the air, like, a million years ago.   So I just updated the reference to keep up with these crazy kids today.

Q:   I liked the old version better. How come you don’t have that one posted anymore?

A:   I’m sure you can find it floating around online somewhere.

Q:   So what do you have against Nick Brendon?

A:   Nothing.  I’ve never met the fellow, but I wish him many years of happiness and a lucrative TV career for as long as he wants one.

Q:   Yeah, but you totally dis him in your song, “I Miss Buffy T.V.S.”

A:   No, I don’t!   Do I?

Q:   You do!   You say your friend met him at a party and found him “kind of disappointing.”

A:   Ah.   I was just making the point that in real life actors are generally just regular people and thus more disappointing than their idealized, fictional counterparts.

Q:   Well, I met Nick Brendon at a convention/restaurant/my friend’s house and he was totally cool.

A:   That’s great.   And as you know, I have much love for the character he plays, Xander Harris.   Witness my song, “Lots of Xander to Love.”

Q:   What do you have against Angel?

A:   The character or the TV show?

Q:   Let’s start with the character.

A:   I have nothing against Angel.   He’s fascinating, I love him, etc. etc.

Q:   Okay then, smarty-pants.   What do you have against Angel the TV show?

A:   *Sigh*   I just can’t get into it.   I started watching the first season but I got restless…

Q:   You have to stay with it!   It gets so much better!

A:   …then I tuned back in around season four with the whole Connor thing…

Q:   Conner’s annoying!   It’s okay!   Keep watching!   The next season is the best season!

A:   I’ve heard that.   Maybe I’ll try again.

Q:   You have to!   It’s like Buffy for grown-ups!   Wesley becomes a bad-ass!   The episode with the puppets is hilarious!

A:   Yeah, okay.   I’ll try it again.

Q:   No, seriously.   You have to watch it.

A:   I will, I said.

Q:   Do you like Firefly?

A:   Love it!

Q:   You should make a Firefly CD.

A:   Let’s see how this one does, first.

Q:   How come you didn’t write a song about Drucilla/Harmony/Scott Hope/my favorite character?

A:   Let me refer you to my song, “I Didn’t Write A Song About Angel.”   I address that very concern.

Q:   Who’s Mr. Gordo?

A:   That would be Buffy’s stuffed animal.   He’s a pig.   He’s referenced a couple of times in the series.

Q:   Which one is D’Hoffryn again?

A:   He’s the head vengeance demon that Anya reports to.

Q: Oh, yeah.   I remember now.   You want THAT guy to be your boyfriend?

A:   It’s a little tongue-in-cheek.

Q:   What does that mean?   Something pervy?

A:   I’m not sure, now that I think about it.   I’ll look into it and let you know.
